Cricketbath
Courses
A full range of Cricketbath courses are organised and delivered by fully-qualified ECB coaches for children and young people at all stages of their cricket development:
Advanced Courses
- designed to provide a springboard for youth players to reach the next stage in the ‘age-group’ world, be that from club to district or district to county level. Participants will be tested and stretched by the coaching staff to think tactically, work physically harder and hone the skills needed to step-up the ladder.
Hard Ball Introduction
- allows the younger population to experience what their heroes face on the big stage. Over a 10 week period, an acclimatisation process will take place discovering how to bowl, bat and field with a real cricket ball. Pupils will learn about net safety, equipment, running between the wickets, bowling from the correct distance and taking those brave match-winning catches.
Half Term Courses are divided into to two age-groups:
6-8 years - basic skills are introduced to novice cricketers through soft ball activities. The primary focus with would-be players is ‘game play’ and ‘fun’. At this stage of sporting development we also introduce agility, balance and co-ordination into games to give a rounded approach to childrens' health, fitness and sporting foundations.
9-13 years - have a hard ball bonanza awaiting them by escaping ‘soft ball’ and indulge in ‘real’ cricket. Throughout the programme, children will be probed and drilled on the bowling machine, thoroughly examined by new fielding skills and get to pit their wits against peers during mini-tournaments.
