David Prentice

“David Prentice was a fine cricketer, an excellent skipper who commanded respect from all who played under him. He was also a stylish top order attacking batsman, useful medium pacer and superb close to the bat fielder.Dave also represented Wiltshire on many occasions.

In the early sixties the club was short of younger players and Dave was the one who influenced people like the Ingram brothers to join the club. He consistently topped the batting averages and Dave Ingram recalls the time when he had an average of 300 plus going in to August, being out only once.

He was a very useful footballer who was on Bristol citys books until he had to to take on the family business of Hallets Estate Agents in Wood Street. Dave was also instrumental in both suggesting and planning the Bath CC car park which was non profit making in the late 50s early 60s.

A lovely man AKA " Prent the Gent.”
