Eric Worrell

In the Bath Chronicle this week it was announced that Eric Worrell died on 7th March, aged 81.

The funeral service will take place at Southdown Methodist Church on Thursday 13th April at 10:30am followed by burial at Haycombe Cemetery.

Eric played for the Club from the fifties until the early eighties as a useful all rounder for the seconds.  in the seventies, he was vice captain of the Sunday B XI to Duncan McDaniel.    He played in the famous match at North Parade in 1964 between the Club & Ron Roberts' XI that included Sir Gary Sobers, Bill Alley, Richie Benaud, Jack Hampshire, Phil Sharpe, Dennis Silk & cricket writer E W Swanton.  Eric was dismissed by Sobers, caught Swanton & failed to take a wicket.
