Lively debate over many issues including hospitality, recruitment, car parking and the usual ongoing subjects such as BICC, JR pavilion and new scorebox

JR Pavilion

The scaffolding will be removed in the next few days and a new temporary roof will be built on the groundsman store. This will also include making to ceiling watertight and will provide a temporary solution whilst the club look at the options. Members were invited to give their opinions on the future construction/use of the former JR pavilion. Amongst the ideas were a tea room, ladies pavilion, banked viewing area and a new groundsman store with seating at the front. We will continue to assess the club finances over the next few months.

New scorebox

A decision was made to build the new scorebox which will be situated in the corner near the pavilion, the work will commence shortly with a view to complete by first league game.

Health and Safety
Following an incident last August where a member of the public was struck by a cricket ball the club has been advised to investigate putting in place netting along the white wall during the season. The club is awaiting a planning decision from BANES which we should have on the 8th April before any such structure can be built.

The BICC goes from strength to strength with great occupancy throughout February although we are still looking at daytime use during the week.

Car park

Car park income has increased over Jan/Feb as we continue to tighten on the people who park for free. One idea is to make Bath Rugby homes pay and display for all. We will look at this in July/August. Just to reiterate members and non-members can only park whilst watching cricket/using the BICC or using the clubhouse.

We have successfully recruited a new assistant groundsman following a full day of interviewing a unanimous decision was reached to offer Stuart Antell the job. Stuart is from Blandford in Dorset an interview will be posted on the website soon.
He will be starting on Monday 10th March and will be moving to the area. Recruitment for a new coach continues with the advert closing on 14th March.

Somerset Game

Discussions continue with Somerset CCC just tying up the final details for the 20/20 warm up match at North Parade on the 12th May

Tom Stayt has been confirmed as a trustee as Playing member’s representative this will be voted on the AGM.
