Bath Janinder Morgan has been selected to represent the South and West Region at this year's Bunbury Festival

Four of this year’s Somerset Under 15 squad have been selected to represent the South and West Region at this year’s Bunbury Festival in Durham. This year’s Festival will consist of a mixture of 50 over and 20/20 matches between the four regions.

George Bartlett (batsman/off spin), Luke Tomkins (opening bowler/batsman), Janinder Morgan (opening bowler/batsman) from Bath CC and Calvin Harrison (leg spin/batsman) all impressed the selectors throughout the trialling process.

Somerset Cricket Board Head Coach Greg Kennis said: “It’s a fantastic achievement and one the boys should be extremely proud of. It will be a great experience for them and will give them an opportunity to show off their skills alongside the many other talented young cricketers from around the country.”

The Head Coach continued; “It has been a few years since Somerset has been so strongly represented at Regional level and this is further evidence of the direction that youth cricket in Somerset is heading.”

Somerset’s representation would have been even greater had it not been for injury. Wicket-keeper/batsman Jack Gunningham would also have been selected had it not been for a knee injury which has kept him out of action for the past month.
