Bath CC 1st XI v Bedminster CC 1st XI

Bath CC 1st XI had a disappointing result away to Bedminster 1st XI on Saturday. After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the Bath openers made a solid starting putting on 52 for the first wicket before Jack Scrivens (22) was stumped of the bowling of Joe Millard. His opening partner, Brad Porteous was bowled soon after by Millard for 44, and then many of the Bath batters all made starts but struggled to establish themselves as the away side lost six wickets for just 90 runs to finish 198-9 from their 50 overs. Joe Millard bowled particularly well for Bedminster, picking up 4-47 from his 10 overs.

Bedminster made light work of chasing down Bath’s total with openers Joseph Phillips and Ollie Meadows putting on a 170 opening partnership before Meadows went for 64. Phillips went on to post an undefeated 98 from 114 balls to take Bedminster to a nine wicket win. Bath have slipped to third place in Premier One following this result, with Bridgwater CC now top of the table.
