Bath CC 2nd XI v Bradley Stoke CC 1st XI

Bath CC 2nd XI made the trip to Bradley Stoke Cricket Club to face the club’s 1st XI on Saturday.

After choosing to field, Bradley Stoke got off to a steady start before the introduction of young seamer, Rhys Baker to the attack picked up the wicket of opener, Alfie Bradley (10) to leave the home side 42-1. But Bradley Stoke then strung together a number of important partnerships as three batters, Shahzad Ahmad (57), Dan Laver (50) and Owen Onslow (58) all recorded half centuries. Onslow in particular accelerated the home sides innings with his half century coming off just 30 balls with six sixes to take Bedminster’s score up to 253-8 from their 50 overs. Kester Moseley bowled a very tidyten over spell of 2-25.

Bath’s reply never really got going, as they lost regular wickets and four batters didn’t convert their 20+ scores into a higher, and potentially match winning innings. Despite a late flurry of runs from Rhys Baker (38*), Bath were bowled out in the 45th over for 168, to lose by 85 runs.
