Bath CC 2nd XI v Hanham CC 1st XI
Bath CC 2nd XI kept up their winning ways on Saturday by posting a 118 run win against Hanham CC 1st XI at Hanham’s Abbotts Road ground. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bath lost Josh Norgrove (12) early but fellow opener, Joe Weare (51) batted effectively with Kester Moseley (59) and with further contributions from skipper Charlie Rustell (46), Fred Stappard (20) and Harry Allen (21), Bath finished their innings on a commanding 258-8 from their 45 overs.
Hanham’s reply never really got going as they slipped to 70-3, which soon became 76-4 as the left arm pace of Sam Barnes grabbed the crucial wicket of Jack Alway (42). Barnes then removed two further middle order batters in a match winning spell of 4-26. Seamer Ross Newman then removed the tale in a spell of 3-28 to bowl Hanham out for just 140 in the 33rd over. As a result of this win, Bath remain top of the B&D Senior Division with a 15 point lead over Cleeve CC 1st XI.
