Bath CC 2nd XI v Twyford House CC 1st XI
Bath CC 2nd XI successfully chased Twyford House’s total to record an away victory on Saturday.
After putting Twyford into bat, the home side got off to a good start before the introduction of Spencer Gammon to the attack once again proved effective, as he bowled Mark Fowler (20) with the score on 46, and then removed Arthur Trotman for a duck. At 55-2, Bath found themselves in a good position but sold performances from Henry Trotman (38), Jacob Neville (48*) was outdone by skipper, Richard Trotman who hit 98 not out off just 82 balls to propel Twyford’s total up to a challenging 269-4 from their 50 overs.
Bath’s reply could not have started better as opener, Campbell McKegg struck 97 from just 44 balls, including seven sixes. When McKegg was out with 121 on the board, fellow opener, Josh Norgrove continued to bat strongly with Kester Moseley (25), recording a half century before he was out for 53 with the score 187-3. This soon became 189-4, but Bill Simmons (22) and skipper, Will Arney (35*) combined well to pass the rain affected revised target of 248 with ten overs still left to be bowled.
