Bath CC 3rd XI v Hambrook CC 1st XI
Bath’s 3rd XI continued their unbeaten run against Hambrook 1st XI at the Brownsword Ground on Saturday. After being put into bat, Bath got off to an indifferent start as they lost four batters inside the first 12 overs whilst keeping up a very healthy run rate of eight an over. But at 86-4, Ishwar Suresh and Tim Scott took control of the match, putting on a partnership of 129 before Suresh went for an excellent 123 from just 73 balls. Although Scott soon followed for 46, contributions from Innes Pierce (32), Mo Hamza (17) and James Miles (14) took the home sides total up to a very commanding 298-8.
Hambrook lost early wickets and slipped to 49-4 as the away sides batters struggled against the off spin of Mo Hamza (4-35). Despite a positive 49 from Krunal Visavadia, Bath continued to pick up regular wickets to bowl out Hambrook for 167 in the 31st over. As a result of this victory, Bath’s 3rd XI picked up a maximum 20 points to remain top of Division One of the Bristol & District League.
