Bath CC 4th XI v Bristol Pakistanis CC 2nd XI
Bath CC 4th XI lost their home match against Bristol Pakistanis 2nd XI on Saturday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Bath got off to a fine start through openers David Pippett and Dan Hope, who put on 64 before Hope went for 27. Pippett soon followed for 36, but Bath seemed set in a good position at 90-2. Although wickets continued to fall Kirk Russell (35) batted well with young batters, Jack Pippett (17) and Alby Jackman (18*) to help take Bath up to a competitive 183-9.
Bristol Pakistanis got off to a good start as they looked to dominate Bath’s young opening attack and raced up to 86 without loss. But the introduction of spin to the attack once again proved successful, as Alan Alex picked up 4-16, and as Pippett (1-47) picked up the away team skipper Harris Mohammad for 48, the away side were 103-5 with still 81 required for victory. Although Bristol Pakistanis slipped to 125-7, some strong batting from the lower order through Atif Mehmood (49*) and Moaz Khalid (24*) took the away side to victory in the 32ndover.
