Bath CC 4th XI lost by six wickets on Saturday to Golden Hill 4th XI.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the Bath openers got off to a fine start, recording a 59 run opening partnership before Thiaan Aspeling went for 39. Will Poulton then followed first ball, but Jacob Fleming and opener David Pippett then began to rebuild which resulted in a partnership of 114 before Fleming went for an excellent 50. Pippett (89*) then batted effectively with the lower order to finish the innings on 200-6.
Golden Hill got off to a good start before skipper Sandy Fraser-Tytler was stumped off the bowling of Allan Alex (1-25) for 17. Although Bath spinners, Allan Alex and Veera Sasidharan (0-24) bowled well in tandem, Zac Patterson (26) and Will Schofield (79) put on 97 for the second wicket. At 129-2 the match was still in the balance, but despite a short and effective spell from Mike Roe (2-28) picked up two quick wickets, Zairn Hussain (39*) and Sam Hygate (19*) combined well to take Golden Hill to a six wicket victory with just three overs to be bowled.
