Bath CC Wanderers 1st XI v Bridgwater CC Women’s XI
Bath’s Wanderers went top of the Women’s Premiers Division on Sunday after continuing their unbeaten run in the league by beating Bridgwater CC Women’s XI by 130 runs.
After being put into bat, the Wanderers posted a huge score of 280-5 from their 40 overs largely due to key contributions from Laila Moledina (74), Charlotte Phillips (32) and an excellent undefeated century from Maddie White (108).
Bridgwater’s reply was seriously hampered from the start when both opening batters went without troubling the scoreboard due to some excellent bowling from Sophie Gaiger (2-13), and then Connie Osborn (3-3) removed three more batters to leave the home side 16-5. Skipper, Joleigh Roberts then played an anchor role, batting well with the lower order which included a fine 32 from Poppy Hawker. But, in the end, Bridgwater finished on 150-9, 130 runs adrift, with Roberts undefeated on 77.
