Bath CC Wanderers 1st XI recorded a convincing home win on Sunday against Devizes CC Womens 1st XI to remain top of the Women’s Premier Division.
After Devizes won the toss and elected to bat first, the away team’s openers made a solid start moving to 43 without loss until Rowan Sabin (15) was run out. Fellow opener, Katherine Mills (25) soon followed, and this then sparked a collapse, with Devizes losing their last eight wickets for just 27 runs, to be bowled out for 78. Pick of the Wanderers bowlers was Emily Smith, who picked up five wickets for just one run.
Bath then made short work of chasing down the total, racing across the line in less than 10 overs. Skipper Emma Godman (13*), Laila Moledina (23) and Katie Dolman (21*) batted positively to take the Wanderers to victory.
