Bath’s Wanderers 1st XI women’s team made a trip to Bristol on Sunday to face the Golden Hill women’s 1st XI. After losing the toss and electing to bat, Golden Hill made a solid start, but at 34 without loss, they lost three quick wickets without adding any runs to their total. This sudden change of momentum hampered the rest of Golden Hill’s innings and with regular wickets falling, the home side were soon bowled out for 109 in just the 28th over of their 40 over innings. Standout bowlers for the Wanderers were Sophie Gaiger (3-22) and Lily Day (2-16).
Bath’s reply got off to a flying start with openers, Emma Godman (39*) and Laila Moledina (37*) making easy work of chasing down Golden Hill’s target inside 15 overs to win the match. As a result of this win, the Wanderers picked up 20 points in their first Women’s Premier Division match of the season.
