Bath CC Wanderers 1st XI v Royal Wootton Bassett CC Women’s 1st XI
Bath Wanderers 1st XI continued their unbeaten form in the Women’s Premier Division on Sunday at North Parade.
After winning the toss and electing to field, the Wanderers opening bowlers quickly got into their work removing both of the Royal Wootton Bassett openers with only 15 on the board. Although Oshadhi Ranasinghe (14), Jodie Bounds (20) and Thea Hopkins (31) all made important contributions, the Wanderers continued to bowl well and take regular wickets. It was then left to an inspired spell of bowling from Genevieve Donaldson (4-14) to finish the Wootton Bassett innings as the away side were bowled out for just 99 in the 32nd over.
In reply, despite slipping to 6-2, skipper Emma Godman (30) and Maddie White (30) helped steer the Wanderers to a five wicket victory in the 18th over – comfortably passing the revised target of 58 from 17.1 overs. The Wanderers are now just six points behind top of the table Devizes CC, with a match in hand.
