Claymores v Chippenham

Finally, cricket is back after a false start last week. The Claymore side took on a Chippenham side that we had not come across before. Winning the toss, Captain Christian L elected to bat at North Parade. We got off to a good start with Christian playing some lovely shots. Christian made 28 but eventually fell after trying to hit 1 too many over the top. This was our top score with others chipping in along the way, we worked our way up to 116. This was a respectable total against a good bowling attack.

In our attempt to defend our total we bowled well in patches, the pick of the bowlers being Christian L, Joe T and Oscar A picking up our wickets but one of the Chippenham batters batted with real assurance and class making a 50* to help Chippenham home. If we can reduce the number of wides when we bowl and dot balls when we bat, we will have a very successful season.
