U11 Sabres v Keynsham

The girls won the toss and decided to field first. They started the opening overs well, even though the batters were running well between the wickets. This helped Keynsham begin to build the start of their innings, they punished the bad ball, aggressively scoring boundaries.
Emily FA was the first to get a break through, followed by a wicket from Tilly.
This helped put a little pressure on the batters, but it didn’t last for long.
Lily got the next wicket, however, one batter in particular stuck in and helped steady the ship around these falling wickets.
Alice was next to take a wicket, and ended up taking 3 in 2 overs, ending with figures of 3 wickets for 3 runs!
A valiant effort to try and reduce the run rate, as well as a final wicket from Rosa within the penultimate over.
Alas, Keynsham ended on 149-7.

Clara and Alice opened the batting and got off to a steady start. The boys were bowling good lines, making it very difficult, but they stuck at it. Unfortunately a lack of communication caused Alice to be run out and that first wicket was the start of our batting collapse.
We only managed to hold out until the 16th over and due to the wickets falling just as a partnership was building, as a team we weren’t able to create a steady run rate to compete with Kenysham.
The girls finished on 55 AO.

Not our best team performance as a team, but we have the potential to be tough competition for those more experienced teams. A lot to take from the match and move onto for the last 2 games of the season. Plenty to focus on during Friday nights training session!
