U11 Spears v Hampset
U11 Spears vs Hampset Hawks
269-7 vs 288-3
After a few weeks off due to bank holidays and poor weather, the Spears returned to play against a well-matched Hampset team. After losing the toss, the Spears were put into field first; early wickets from Seb K and Flo P saw the Spears keep Hampset’s score low. In spite of these early wickets, the middle order was able to pull things back, taking advantage of the Spear’s pace with the ball. The Spears fielded well and gradually picked up wickets with excellent bowling from Flo P and Seb K, Hampset concluded their innings on 288-3.
In reply, Bath Spears started of strong with brother and sister Tilly K and Seb K both scoring sixes and pushing the ball past the Hampset fielders and boundary. However, despite the Spears best efforts, losing 7 wickets saw them fall 20 runs short of their required target, handing the win to a well-deserved Hampset side.
As always thank you to all the players for their commitment and positivity when playing, and also to the parents for their support.
Next week the girls take on Purnell Panthers at Brownsword.
