On a glorious night at the Brownsword the Axes recorded a convincing 6 wicket victory against an enthusiastic Chippenham side. Having been put into the field the Axes started brilliantly with all bowlers given the visiting batsman absolutely no freebies. The pick of the bowlers were; Tom S (3/3) with his ripping leg spin, Sam S (2/2) with his ‘canny’ off breaks and the returning Tom B (2/3) with his heat bowling. The most pleasing element for the team was that we managed to take two catches in the slips, something that has alluded the team until this point.

Alex VA (20) got the team off to a positive with his touch shots all around the ground and with the help of others got the team home in the 8th over. All in all, it was a professional job and showed what a lovely team they are, empathy was the word of the day, they could not have been any kinder or gracious to our guests.
