Bath Axes recorded an 81 run victory in the BDYCL on Thursday night against local rivals Lansdown. Having been put into bat Sam S (15), Freddie S (33) and captain for the evening Jacob F (35) all batted positively latching on to anything over pitched in particular. This coupled with enthusiastic running meant the team had compiled a decent 136 on a ‘damp one’!

In reply the Lansdown innings never really got going due to the ‘metronome’ Jamie G who gave them absolutely nothing, apart from a wide – his first for the whole season! He was ably backed up by Alex M, Max S, Louis M, Luke W, George W, Sam S and the skipper himself. The fielding was outstanding throughout, the backing up being the highlight. Another special mention to the self-proclaimed ‘canny’ off spinner, Jamie G who bowled the final over of night with his ‘mystery’ spin, something he surely must consider seriously going forward.
