Won by 9 runs

Venue: Brownsword

U13 Katanas v Marshfield

Bath - 112-8

Marshfield - 103-6

Bath won the toss and decided to Bat first, getting off to a rocky start with only 10 runs for 3 wickets in the first 3 overs. Oscar S and Charles S were welcomed to the crease with a rebuild mission on their hands. They both ran really well between the wickets picking up crucial singles which slowly increased the run rate with some welcomed boundaries. Oscar went onto hit 31 and Charles 17 which helped Bath get to 112-8 off 20 overs.

Knowing Bath were going to have to bowl exceptionally well to win the game, Rupert D and Harry R opened the bowling with good intent only going for 12 runs in the first 4 overs. Marshfield then went onto have an opening partnership of 59, however, it was off 12 overs which showed Bath bowled tight lines and lengths that stopped Marshfield’s scoring options. Salter came on to take 3 wickets with all players chipping in with wickets, catches and run outs. A stand out catch from Harry R must be mentioned. The exceptional bowling and fielding restricted Marshfield to 103-6 giving Bath the win!

This was our best team bowling performance of the season which shows great improvements.
