U13 Scimitars v Winsley

Bath Scimitars 80-9 (20 overs), Winsley 83-2 (11.1) - Winsley won by 8 wickets.

A hard game for the Scimitars again this week as they came up against another strong side. Running on a young team with 5 year 7’s playing they knew it would be tough but they put up a very good fight.

The Scimitars won the toss and skipper W Winterflood seemed happy with his choice to bat. Unfortunately though after loosing 2 wickets in the first two balls of the innings and a wicket maiden in the second over the Scimitars were at an unhealthy looking 1-3 after two overs. M Scarpino tried stabilising the innings with O Salter by not playing any risky shots and picking up the odd run or two but they unfortunately fell victim to good bowling not long after. I Cooper top scored the innings batting at 11 and gave the Scimitars a bit of hope. The Scimitars finished their 20 overs on 80, a respectable score seeing how their innings started off.

The Scimitars didn’t do anything wrong in the second innings, bowling tight lines and fielding very well but the Winsley batters played the game well. Mentions go to N Leberman who only went for 8 runs in his 2 overs, O Salter only going for 3 in his over and I Cooper and W Winterflood for taking the Scimitars 2 wickets.

A well fought game from the Scimitars but they were beaten by a strong side.
