U15 Claymores v Lansdown
Our final game of the 2021 season was on a sunny afternoon at Lansdown CC.
We had played them twice before and were desperate to put on a good display to show of our skills. Due to the difficulties that everyone is facing at the moment, we went into the game with 10 players.
We won the toss and choose to bat. That decision turned out to be a good decision as we wracked up one of our top 3 totals this year. This was down to Chis L's excellent 42 and Christian L's 34. They built a brilliant platform for us to set a total of 127.
In response, we bowled well in patches but would always find it difficult to defend the total with only 10 on the field. Alex M made his debut for the side and returned figures of 1-13.Oscar A bowled a tight spell of 0-19 and Ollie R also returned excellent figures of 1-14. Sadly, we couldn't bowl well enough for long periods which released the pressure off Lansdowne and they chased the total only 3 down.
A Special mention to Charlie Y who again put on an exhibition in the field. A spectacular diving catch and some brilliant diving stops showed how much he has improved this year.
Not the finish we wanted but the boys fought till the end.
