U15 Claymores v Winsley

Despite the weather threatening to ruin another game of cricket, we ‘got the game on’. With a lot of cloud cover, Winsley inserted us to bat which was not too bad as pitch looked very good.

Winsley opened the bowling with 2 young men who bowled a pace that would look at home in most adult teams. This being said our top order battled hard and fronted up against the pace. It was a great battle between bat and ball and the highlight of the day has to be Joe R’s booming straight drive back past the stumps.

After battling hard against a strong attacked we worked our way up to 98. Which is our biggest team total of the year. We have come on leaps and bounds this year with our batting awareness and ability to rotate the strike.

Sadly, the consistent light drizzle throughout our innings started to settle on the outfield meaning our bowlers where going to find it hard to control the now slippery ball. We struggled for our line and length which meant the Winsley batters scored freely and regularly. Winsley chased our score down with 9 wickets spare with our wicket taker being Kaan B. We gave it our al in the field and our fielding is definitely improving.
