Lost by 26 runs

Venue: North Parade

U15 Samurai v Chippenham

A much changed Samurais side went down to Chippenham by 26 runs at North Parade on Wednesday.

Losing the toss and fielding first, Bath struggled against some powerful striking from both openers, as Chippenham got off to a flyer in reaching 93-0 from 10 overs. Following the retirement of the impressive Fielder 50*, it was Ifans who made the first breakthrough, with a great ball to castle Lycett for 34.

Despite the tough opening 10, Bath stuck to their task and didn't let their heads drop, steming the flow of runs as Chippenham finished on 138-2. Debutants Gen D (1-22 from 4), Luke W and George W all bowled well in tough circumstances, as well as Jesse C.

In reply, Bath found themselves 0-2 from 0.2 overs. A 50 partnership followed, but Bath were never able to match Chippenham's high boundary frequency. Despite good contributions from captain for the evening Zach M (32), Luke S (22) and Gen D (21*) they fell 26 runs short.
