1st XI win in the rain
24 May 2021
The 1st XI progressed to the second round of the ECB National 40 over competition after playing through the rain yesterday. With the poor forecast and dates for re-arrangments running out a decision was made to play a 20 over match. Credit to the umpires for getting the game on.
Bath won the toss and reduced Potterne to 8 for 5 with wickets for Harry Hankins and George Axtell. Michael Ferreira (42) and Kieran Bull (49) produced a 95 run stand to give Potterne a fighting chance at the half way stage with a final total of 113 for 6.
With the rain falling steadily Sam Young depart early but a brisk 23 from the in-form Jack Scrivens and then an unbroken stand of 72 between Tim Rouse (45) and new overseas Brad Porteous (35) saw Bath home with 5.2 overs to go.
Up next we face the winners of the delayed match between South Wilts and Bashley both from the Southern Premier league. This match is due to take place on Sunday 6th June venue TBC
