Bath Wanderers vs Bridgwater match report

4 July 2021

Wanderers 1st Xl having had a successful, if damp run in the cup. Managed to reach the Regional finals of the National Women’s club T20.

Bath Wanderers travelled to Bridgwater for this final on a breezy, damp day.

Wanderers lost the toss and were put into bat. Where they were soon under pressure after losing two early wickets in the first over on what proved to be a slow wicket.

The middle order started to pick up the run rate with some boundaries found. Some nice shots from Prest, Godman, Thomson and Smith, got the total to a more respectable size, but the wickets kept falling and Wanderers ended on 98 for 8.

Wanderers thought they were in for a chance as the early wicket of Bridgwater opener, Roberts came in the 4th over. However Forge and Coombes played some lovely powerful shots, with Wanderers unable to bag their wickets.

Bridgwater winning by 9 wickets.

Then the heaven’s opened!!!

We wish Bridgwater all the best in the National Semi Finals v Finchley Gunns next Sunday.
