Bath Cricket Club’s youth and community cricket programmes have received a funding boost from new sponsor, Watches of Bath. The Upper Borough Walls based business has become the clubs second biggest sponsor by pledging £5,000 towards the extensive programmes that support schools and the community with coaching and mentoring.

During the 2021/22 academic year, Bath CC’s programmes visited 25 schools in the local area, provided over 1,000 hours of community coaching and mentoring, which included over 100 hours of girls only cricket and 90 hours of disability cricket.

Watches of Bath have been giving back and supporting local charities since moving to the city in 2021. The business specialises in the sale of luxury pre-owned timepieces, from brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Tudor and Omega. It’s showroom, based at Spaces on Upper Borough Walls can be visited by appointment, where the service of buying or selling luxury timepieces is offered, or the business can source a particular piece that a customer may be struggling to find.

Jack from Watches of Bath, said:

“As a local business in the luxury retail sector, we are delighted to be able to support Bath CC’s cricket coaching and mentoring programmes that reach out into schools and the wider community. With the club located in the heart of the city, we’re looking forward to seeing first-hand the impact that our support will have during this coming cricket season and beyond.”

Andrew Linnett, a Trustee at Bath Cricket Club, added:

“It’s fantastic to have signed this sponsorship agreement with a successful local business. We aim to use these funds to support our youth and community cricket programmes, which continue to expand with tailored coaching and mentoring for boys, girls and disability groups in local schools and clubs, and from our purpose built indoor cricket centre. Our thanks to Watches of Bath for their support.”
