BDYCL Cup - 26 July 2021

won by 3 runs

Venue: Away

U15 Samurai v Chippenham

Bath Samarais just came out on top in a high scoring game at Chippenhan CC, winning by 3 runs.

In a side that included eight u13s, Bath batted first and made the most of the small boundaries to reach 150-4 from 20 overs. The innings was dominated by 2nd wicket partnership of 111 from captain Zach M (55 Retired) and Wilf E (36) who both scored at over a run a ball. Useful cameos from Luke S and Max H also helped to build a useful total.

Chippenham came flying out of the blocks with their opening bat making 27 from 11 balls, but he fell thanks to a great catch from Zach M, who pouched a huge skyer to give Bath the advantage.

Chippenham stayed in the game and required 16 from the last two overs, but Max H and Ollie W held their nerve to see Bath win by 3 runs.

There were impressive spells from u13s Sam S (3-0-13-2) and George W (3-0-14-0) but all of the lads making the step up showed they are capable of performing at this level.

Victory in our final league game of the season secures Bath as runners up in the u15 Prem division, with a cup final to look forward to and a chance of silverware.
