U15 Samurai v U15 Claymores

The Samarais completed a 70 run win against Bath Claymores at North Parade this week.

Batting first with a much changed side and batting order, Freddie K took advantage of his promotion to opener in striking a fine 50* before retiring. He was joined in an opening stand of 60 by Zach M (28); there were also contributions from Ollie W (15), Owen B (16*) and an impressive 26* from captain for the night Joe H. All 5 batters contributed to an excellent total of 165-3 from 20 overs. 

The Claymores were pegged back almost immediately as Jamie G, making his debut for the u15s having stepped up from the u13 Axes, struck LBW with the second ball of the innings. This was just the start for Jamie, who finished a fine spell with 4-1-7-4 to rock the Claymores top order. He was followed by good spells from Twm, Jonty, Fabian & Ollie W, but the Claymores hung in there and it was left to Owen (3-10) to mop up the tail to leave them all out for 95. A good performance overall in a match played in great spirit by both teams. It was great to see some of our lower order finally showcase their batting skills to give me something to think about for the remainder of the season! We'll done chaps 👍🏏
