Bath CC 4th XI travelled to North Bristol to face Lodway CC 2nd XI on Saturday.

After winning the toss and electing to field first, Bath’s opening bowlers Ben Puzey (3-49) and Thiaan Aspeling (2-26) combined very well to remove the top order to leave the home side 69-5. But then Fraser Dawe (39) batted effectively with the lower order including George Harris (24*) to take Lodway to a very competitive 177-9 from their 40 overs.

Bath started their innings positively, but lost Thiaan Aspeling (15) early. The away side’s top order then all moved into double figures but then got out at crucial moments, and this continued throughout the innings before Bath were bowled out for 109 in the 36th over to lose by 68 runs.
