Bath CC 2nd XI v Brislington CC 1st XI

Bath CC 2nd XI posted a convincing away win over Brislington CC 1st XI on Saturday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first Bath lost talented young opener, Sam Price (10) in the fifth over, but this then led to an impressive second wicket partnership of 112 between Dollin Jansen (71) and Kester Moseley (46). When these two batters were out, Bath kept up the momentum with double figure contributions from a number of batters to take the away sides score up to a very competitive 253-7 in their allotted 50 overs.

Brislington started their reply well, reaching 25 without loss in the sixth over when opener, M Ayres (15) was bowled by Sam Barnes. Bath then took wickets in regular intervals to leave the home side 62-4, and although Will Thomas (37), Rhys Grove (23) and Cameron George (34) made positive contributions, wickets continued to fall and Brislington were eventually bowled out for 177 still 76 runs adrift of the Bath total. Pick of the Bath bowlers were Sam Barnes (3-40), Alex Burkhart (3-19) and Ross Newman (2-22).
