Bath CC 4th XI v Golden Hill CC 4th XI

Bath CC 4th XI came out second best in their away fixture against Golden Hill 4th XI on Saturday.

After being asked to bat first, Bath made a solid start through Thiaan Aspeling (39) and skipper, David Pippett (40), but when Pippett was out just before drinks, the away side slipped from 70-1 – 132-5. Although Jack Pippett hit an undefeated 26, Bath’s other batters fell cheaply around him as the away side ended their innings on an underwhelming 144-7.

Golden Hill’s opening batters, Wilf Newton (48) and Romesh Tenuwera (51) added 90 for the first wicket, putting any lose ball away to the boundary. Some solid off spin from Veera Sasidharan (1-21) and an excellent return to the attack from left-arm seamer, Max Woodman (2-36) ensured that Bath picked up some more points, but it wasn’t enough as Golden Hill crossed the line with nine overs to be bowled to win by six wickets.
