walking cricket
Walking Cricket is a slower-paced, social version of the game designed to keep cricket accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive for all.
Our Walking Cricket sessions are open to anyone looking for a relaxed way to stay active, particularly those aged 55+. The focus is on light exercise, enjoyment of the game, and a strong social environment where everyone feels welcome.
Sessions are played at a walking pace with simplified rules, making the game easy to pick up regardless of previous cricket experience. It’s as much about conversation and community as it is about cricket, with a friendly group atmosphere at the heart of every session.
Tea and biscuits in the clubhouse afterwards are a regular highlight, giving players the chance to relax, socialise, and stay connected beyond the pitch.
support us
Your support helps us continue to grow this programme and keep it affordable and accessible for everyone involved. Contributions go directly towards coaching, equipment, and maintaining a welcoming environment where players can enjoy regular sessions.
It also helps us provide the simple but important social side of the programme, bringing people together after cricket for tea, biscuits, and conversation, which is a key part of what makes Walking Cricket so special.
If you’d like to donate below, any amount is greatly appreciated. It costs £75 to run 1 session of walking cricket (1hr 30 mins). This includes Hall hire, coaching and equipment along with teas and coffee after the session. If you’d like to donate this, or any amount, every little helps towards fund our community projects.
