Bath CC 2nd XI v Bedminster CC 2nd XI

Bath 2nd XI remain in second place in WEPL Bristol & North Somerset despite losing to Bedminster 2nd XI on Saturday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Bath openers made a steady start before Dollin Jansen (16) and Charlie Brain (18) went in quick succession to leave the home side 37-2. Sam Price (12) and Kester Moseley (18) briefly settled the innings down again, but then both went quickly to leave Bath on 68-4. Harry Allen (55) and Hamish Bell (40) with contributions from the lower order then took Bath up to a competitive 246 all out with just four balls to be bowled.

Despite losing Daniel Brussow (4) early, bowled by Ross Newman, the Bedminster batters always looked in control with all of the remaining top six contributing to a fine run chase. George Pearce (50), Ben Cunliffe (46), Lewis Shean (30), Bailey Peacock (73*) and Joseph Shean (33) took their side to a six wicket victory with almost six overs to be bowled.
