Bath CC 2nd XI v Brislington CC 1st XI
Bath 2nd XI played hosts to Brislington CC 1st XI at North Parade on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first openers Alex Haleem and Charlie Brain made a steady start before Haleem was bowled in the 20th over for 36. With the score on 73-1, Sam Price joined Brain but was bowled soon after for 10. Kester Moseley (28) then added 57 with Brain and Charlie Rustell (36) added a further 41 runs before Brain went for 76. Alex Burkhart (21) and Harry Allen (22) then got Bath up to a defendable 251-6 from their 50 overs.
Brislington’s reply got off to a fine start with Francisco Couana and skipper Milo Ayres putting on 161 for the first wicket before Couana was caught & bowled for 61 by Hamish Bell (3-27). Although Bell picked up another two quick wickets, Ayres went on to reach his century before eventually falling to Jacob Lewis (1-32) for an excellent 126. Rhys Grove (26*) and Josh Whitemore (24*) then went on to take Brislington to a six wicket win in the 44th over. Despite this loss, Bath remain in third place in the league.
