Bath CC 4th XI v Timsbury CC 2nd XI
Bath CC 4th XI recorded their second win of the season against Timsbury CC 2nd XI at the Brownsword Ground.
After electing to bat first, Bath lost Tanoy Rathod (0) in the first over, bowled by the young Albie Sage (2-56). Shortly after, Thiaan Aspeling (18) was caught at mid-wicket, but Will Poulton and Louis Russell (26) then added 57 before Russell was trapped in front. Poulton and George Wylie then put together an excellent 98 partnership before Poulton was caught and bowled for an impressive 82. Wylie continued to bat well with the middle order before he was bowled for a run-a-ball 70. Bath closed their innings on 243-8.
Timsbury’s reply never really got going as they lost opener Ben Hosford (0) in the first over, caught behind off the pace of George Wylie (4-18). At 79-5, skipper Adam Workman came to the crease to hit an undefeated 46 from 55 balls, but it was too little, too late as wickets continued to tumble and the away side finished on 147-8 from their 40 overs, still 96 runs adrift of Bath’s total. In addition to the excellent Wylie, Bharath Chandrasekaren (3-28) bowled well. This win keeps Bath 4th XI solidly in 5th place in the league.
