Bath CC 4th XI v Timsbury CC 2nd XI

Bath CC 4th XI picked up an away win against Timsbury CC 2nd XI on Saturday.

After winning the toss, and choosing to bat first, openers David Pippett and Thiaan Aspeling put on a solid opening partnership of 64 before Aspeling played on for 27. Pippett and promising young batter, Will Blackmore then compiled a partnership of over 100, before Blackmore went for a brisk 41. Pippett then went on to post his second century of the season (101) before being run out, but John Ormesher hit a rapid 25 not out to ensure the away side passed 200 as Bath eventually finished their innings on 216-4 from their 40 overs.

Timsbury’s reply had the worst of starts when skipper, Adam Workman was trapped in front the second ball of the innings. Josh Tucker (28) and Oliver Davis (27) both batted positively, but leg spinner, Allan Alex (2-40) removed them both to leave the home side 74-3. This soon became 97-6 as Andy Roberts (3-36) picked up three quick wickets. Then, George Webb and Dan Nesbitt compiled a potentially match winning partnership of 76 before both were removed by John Ormesher, Nesbitt bowled for 38, and then Webb (50) was run out by Ormesher. This was a crucial passage of play, as Ormesher (3-15) then took the final two wickets to bowl out Timsbury for 179, to win the match by 37 runs.
